Factoring Polynomials: The GCF

Common Denominators of Unlike Fractions

In Version 2.03, Section 6.5 is about adding and subtracting unlike fractions, and there are two videos for that Section 6.5. In the Norco Edition, we don't actually add or subtract these unlike fractions. Instead, we just learn how to get a common denominator.

The 6.5, Part 1, video is about getting the common "target" denominator. This is what our SEc 8.4 is about.

We are skipping the 6.5, Part 2, video (from Version 2.03) because that is no longer a part of our course.

This section is really about rationalizing the denominator, a technique we use to make sure the denomniator is a whole number.

In Version 2.03 , I placed this in Section 10.1, but I realized it is better to have it at the end of the chapter. That's how it is in the Norco Edition, in Sec. 9.4.
